About Us

Our vision starts with a singular goal: An educated child care provider workforce to support the development and learning of all children.

Our mission: To promote affordable and accessible professional development essential for providers to be prepared and qualified for the child care workforce.

The Child Care Aware Training Academy™ offers more than 300 online training courses for center-based and family child care providers. Courses were developed by subject matter experts for providers working towards their Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, CDA renewal or annual training requirements.

Training Academy courses are approved for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and are offered to providers at no additional cost.

In 2013, we increased our reach even further by partnering with groups and organizations that share our mission. Schools, companies, funding sources and others who influence and affect child care providers are being recruited to join our endeavor. Training Academy courses are used by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and the U.S. Air Force to train child care providers on topics including Child Abuse Identification and Reporting Medication Dispensation.

The Training Academy worked with Child Care Aware® of Missouri to roll out its eight-hour Social and Emotional Foundations for Learning course for providers. This training introduces the basic concepts, vocabulary and issues related to the social and emotional development of children.

The Training Academy also offers CCR&R staff members customized professional development courses. Instruction areas include CCR&R professional development, business skills, consumer education, and referral training.

The Training Academy also partners with the Francis Institute for Child and Youth Development to deliver the Strengths-Based Coaching blended-learning series.
