What you will learn:
This 10-hour training series includes five self-paced modules designed to orient new and experienced staff on the Essentials of CCR&R including child care in America, CCR&R in America and CCR&R Best Practices. After that first 3-part lesson, the trainee has 4 additional lessons. These include a 2-hour course in basic consumer education and referral, a 1-hour introduction to adult learning, a 90-minute lesson on assisting child care programs with fire safety and a 2-hour introduction to on-site technical assistance. The fire safety lesson was specifically designed to teach the topic of fire safety in combination with the steps to develop an on-site technical assistance project. All of the lessons were developed by experts in each field and are consistent with NACCRRA’s Best Practices for CCR&Rs. Upon the completion of the 10-hour series, an optional one-hour consultation is available for the trainee with a NACCRRA Quality Assurance Consultant to respond to specific questions and provide additional resources.
This series is specifically designed for orientation of new CCR&R staff or staff in a CCR&R’s parent agency that needs more information about the services provided by CCR&R staff and general information about child care. It can easily be built into the CCR&R’s orientation plan to reduce the time supervisors and others need to spend on general topics in CCR&R. The series also serves as a good refresher for experienced staff who may be transitioning into a new position in the CCR&R and wants to know the current best thinking on CCR&R and child care.
The series is available to the trainee for a period of 12 months on a one-time use basis.
