Summary:
The course consists of six self-paced online lessons and nine 60-minute webinar sessions. Each self-paced lesson will have a scheduled release date. These lessons are available 24 hours a day during the release. You may login and out anytime at your convenience to finish the lesson. What you will learn: :
This 15-hour blended training is designed to build on the knowledge, strengths and skills of technical assistance professionals, administrators and other leaders working in early childhood and school-age programs. Based on the Strengths-Based Coaching® model, this course uses instructional webinars as well as self-paced modules to take participants through a step-by-step process that will help them achieve and sustain quality improvements in care and education.
- This training was developed and is facilitated by people who are currently providing technical assistance to child care administrators and staff serving children from birth to 18 years. Additionally, all have had administrative experience with programs serving children.
- The live version of this training has been presented across the United States and in Australia since 2006.
About the Facilitators:
Joy Humbarger is a Business and Professional Development Specialist at Francis Institute for Child and Youth Development at Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley, Kansas City, Missouri. She holds a M.S. in Early Childhood Education and has been in the Early Childhood Education field for more than 35 years. She provides professional development services to Kansas City area child care professionals as well as on-site coaching to early childhood programs. Humbarger develops and presents training on a variety of early childhood and leadership topics, and is an international speaker. She is the author of Strengths-Based Coaching®.
Terrell Mann holds a M.A. in Child Studies from the Eliot-Pearson Center at Tufts University and a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut. With more than 25 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education, her past roles include: lead teacher, master teacher, center director, program coordinator and early intervention special educator. She has been an Adjunct Instructor in Early Childhood Education at Kansas City Kansas Community College for more than 10 years. Currently, Mann provides on-site technical assistance, training and coaching to local child care programs, and creates and presents a variety of training programs for the Francis Institute Resource Center at MCC-Penn Valley in Kansas City, Missouri.
