Summary:
NACCRRA, in partnership with The Institute for Childhood Education, presents a webinar designed for CCR&R staff who want to provide family child care providers with effective learning environments.
Each participant will be invited to participate in the online, facilitated discussion board that will take place via naccrra.ning.com.
The technical requirements to participate in a NACCRRA webinar are an Internet connection, computer (including a sound card), speakers and microphone.

What you will learn: :
This nine part series focuses on organizing the child care environment for play and playful learning. Basic principles of organizing time, space and materials will be presented to enable child care providers to create intriguing environments that build relationships and give children lots to talk about. Specific principles and ideas will be shared on how to effectively implement the art, block, dramatic play, manipulative, library, math, and science centers.
About the Facilitator:
Dr. Barbara Sorrels is the Executive Director and founder of The Institute for Childhood Education, a private professional development and consulting firm for early childhood professionals, www.WeEducateTeachers.com The primary goal of the institute is to provide the knowledge base and materials to increase the capacity of families, caregivers, schools and communities to nurture the healthy growth of children physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Dr. Sorrels has over 20 years experience teaching children of all ages in child care, kindergarten and elementary school classrooms, as well as 5 years experience teaching graduate and undergraduate students at Oklahoma State University. She founded and directed early childhood centers located in Washington D.C. and Fort Worth, Texas.
Webinar Details:
The webinar series will take place on Mondays, for nine sessions, beginning February 1st , 2010 and ending April 19th , 2010. Specific training dates will be: February 1, 8, 22, March 1, 15, 22, 29, April 12, 19, 2010 from 2-3:30 EST.
